I just added an Optima D31T to our Lance 1161/GMC 3500; I put it in the area in front of the wheel well on the drivers side. This is the side that I can only access when the camper is off the truck, the Optima requires no service. I replace my original battery with a new optima at the same time, they are wired in parallel with #6 wire.

We have the Lance installed Generac generator... after a particularly cold night our refridgerator controls would beep at us. I'd then have to start the truck to be able to start the generator... this winter we'll have plenty of power.

Advance Auto Parts had the best price on the Yellow Top D31T Deep Cycle batteries... $395 for the two... tax included. A lot of money but worth it.

Good luck on your project.
