The fact is, Fred Phelps and the religious right are very much opposed to HCL and so are you. That's not an insult. That is just a statement of fact.

On the other hand, you declared that by Lance (and anyone else) supporting HCL, "you put the gay community at the forefront and make them appear to be whining individuals who are demanding special treatment, which they are." That is your opinion and it is insulting to everyone here who supports HCL.

I don't mean this to be rude, as I said, I'm merely pointing out that whether you are aware of it or not, you are not exactly upholding the same high standards which you demand of others.

I agree that personal insults have no place in debates, and I have really enjoyed your initial post and your reply to Lance. I found them both to be intelligent, informed, and for the most part, light hearted and fun even though I don't agree with you. You seem like a very nice person.

What I ask you to realize is that many times, while making a point, people (including you) will say something without realizing that it will be offensive to someone. When it is pointed out to them, you will find that the people on this board will immediately apologize because no personal offense was really intended.

And if I have offended you with this post, I apologize. That was not my intention.
