Is it an ultra liberal hippie idea to want to marry the person you love? Or not be thrown out of your home? Or fired from your job? Or have your kids beaten at school? Or be told by the government that you're a sick pervert who doesn't deserve respect? Or have your own tax dollars funneled to zealots who want to criminalize your very existence?

I ask that I be allowed to live with my boyfriend and not be thrown out of our home. That we not be fired from our jobs because we're gay. That the police do not come into our bedroom and take us to jail. That my tax dollars go to helping ALL people and improving their lives. That I have the freedom to practice whatever spiritual path I choose without being ridiculed, condemned or criminalized. That I can adopt a homeless child that nobody else wants and raise them in a loving stable home. Are those ultra liberal hippie ideas?
