why, in your opinion, is GWB one of the best presidents we've ever had? I�m just curious, and in their own loving way, the denizens of this board were after the same bit of information from you.

lord knows, if anybody has been a lightning rod for righteously indignant replies, it's traditionally been me. but do you know why people respect what i have to say, even if they don't agree with me? b/c i take the time to learn about what i'm saying, research it, present it cogently and logically, and *most importantly*, say things in such a way that people know, while we disagree on the nuts and bolts, we have the same objective: to stamp out the systematic exclusion of GLBT people from the table of human dignity.

you want to come on this board and present a minority opinion? feel free. just know this from somebody who's been doing it for alot longer, some of these people are going to analyze what you write, and they're going to hand you your ass. there are some brilliant people on here, who feel tremendously passionate about gay equality, and if you want to participate, you better step up your game. having an opinion isn't enough, unless you're content to get your ass kicked every time you open your mouth.

my advice, and this is just a friendly tip from one '00 GWB voter to another, do your homework and get your act together before you post again. While you have the right to say whatever you want, you also have to realize you may come off looking like a total ass in the process.

if you step up and hand these people a softball like that again, they're going to clean your clock again. just don't whine about being shouted down. seriously. i've been pretty much the lone voice in the wilderness since before this board existed, and at times, i've had every single poster on here firing rebuttals at me. do you think i just shit the bed and went home crying about how the mean hippie libs denied me my freedom of expression? hell no. i took what they had to say, conceded where they were right ( and believe it or not, liberals/democrats are not always 100% wrong!), and where i disagreed, i showed conclusive FACTS and argued my way out of it.

if you're content to throw out a line or two of weak partisan polemics, and then complain when the big bad hippies (and frankly, i probably smoke alot more pot, and listen to WAY more grateful dead than anybody on this board) call you on it, that's fine. but frankly, most of the republicans i know prefer to speak for themselves. Mega Dittos, rush can speak for himself. and the last time i checked, Foxnews doesn't need another reporter. open a newspaper, read a differing opinion from a source that is reputable (if you need a list of fine scholarly left-leaning periodicals, i'll be happy to point you to them), just don't try to pass off that 2nd rate, keystone kop horse shit that you call an informed opinion off as anything other than it is: regurgitation of baseless demagoguery.

If you want to compete on the oratorical level of this board, you better step it up several notches. If you don�t, you can�t complain when people call you on it. And stop whining. It really is embarrassing.
