Subject: I have yet to see anything but tiny clips in the mainstream media about the huge protests in Iraq against an American occupation, nor the complete lack of chemical weapons. Occasionally you hear "possible weapons found" and then it's ignored. At most you'll hear a quick correction that it was a false alarm...

I saw an excellent report on CBS on Sunday morning but I wasn't able to find anything online to post. It talked about the estimates of dead in the war. The US military estimates that 2300 Iraqi soldiers have been killed, a number which is most likely a conservative estimate. Doctors in iraq estimate the number of civilian casualties around 2000 men, women and children. And we will never know the exact number.

Before the war I heard an women from an anti-war organization in a debate on CNN. She said "4000 people died in Afganistan, and none of them were named Osama Bin Laden. Are we to expect that Iraq will be any different?"

It hasn't been any different.

Over 4000 people are dead in Iraq, and I honestly doubt Saddam was among them. I think Saddam is at least smart enough to not be seen going into a government building for a meeting while cruise missles are falling on the city. If there is one thing Saddam has always been concerned with it's saving his own skin.

If he had been in that building don't you think American troops would have rushed to that spot and began searching for remains that could be DNA tested? At the time it was widely reported that troops were heading to the site and had DNA samples to compare with remains. But that is now being ignored.

No weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. No chemical weapons, no biological weapons, no nuclear weapons. The Bushies told us they had solid proof the weapons existed, that they knew where the weapons were. But they didn't share that information with UN inspectors because it was a lie. Now US troops occupy the country and no weapons have been found. We're now told that they were probably moved to Syria. We're told that Iraqi people and soldiers will soon come forward and lead us to the weapons. We're told it may take 3-4 months to find anything.

I'm sure some weapons will be found. The administration and the news media have already demonstrated their penchant for fabricating events and doctoring photos. Shouldn't take too long for them to fill some rusty barrels with noxious chemicals and toss them in a bunker where reporters can photograph them.

We've been told that the Iraqi people would welcome American troops with open arms and celebrate in the streets. Some did. Others were flown in for photo ops. Of course you don't see any photos of the Iraqi people who are protesting US occupation.

This war has been based on lies from the very start, by an administration that lies constantly. The lies will continue for many many years, and future history books will be filled with them.
