Our tours overlapped, so we probably had some of the same friends. I always felt like an "honorary" dog handler, since so many of my friends were in K9. I even have an APR written by TSgt George Summerlin, but that was a mistake. He must have had so many people working for him he didn't know who I was. Somehow an APR got into my records (all 8s) signed by Summerlin and listing my AFSC as 81150A, Dog Handler. I didn't discover it till I got to March AFB where I tried to have it voided, but couldn't prove I wasn't ever in K9. Actually, I'm kind of proud to have it now, even though I know the truth. Too bad it didn't name my dog. I'd have called him "Cujo."
