As I recall, Red Patch had to change their name because of their bad rep. They always bragged how they carried shovels to bury their mistakes. Supposedly there were contracts on a lot of their heads. So I guess calling them "Tactical Units" served the purpose of disbanding the Red Patch.
I was stationed at Clark, 6200 SPS (Law Enforcement) from 1969-70. Walked a lot of posts and knew a lot of K9 guys. I came over from SP tech school with Bill Anderson, Joe Merrill, Bruce Hutchison and others. What a party.
