I was there from 1969-70. Your name sounds vaguely familiar. Who doesn't remember Laird and that weird twitch of his? It would drive us crazy to get inspected by him, blinking and twitching like that. Major Boseman was a piece of work. You probably knew MSgt Shirley Baker. After Clark we both went to March AFB. What was the name of that hard case MSgt who was like Laird's office sentry? It's been awhile since I had a San Miguel, though I think there is a store in Chippewa Falls (WI) that sells the import stuff. It tastes a lot like the local brew. My flight chief was TSgt James White when I first got to Clark. Not a likeable guy. He had a sidekick named TSgt Miller. I ran into Miller about 10 years later at Nellis. He was on an IG inspection and had made E-8 or 9. We had a nice chat...he was much more laid back by then. I only remember a couple captains...Redecker and Schladenhoff or something.
Best not to remember the VD rate. Today one would have to worry about AIDS. There was a group of blacks who were actually having a contest to see who could get the clap the most times. I'm sure they regret it today
