This has certainly a been very long trip down memory lane this afternoon and evening. I had no idea there was so many web sites about the K-9 at Clark AB. The first female dog handler assigned to the unit was Rickie Thompson, I as I recall. Who else remembers the evac of Siagon, all those refregees and the last known POW to come out of Vietnam. Emmet Kay, 17 yrs in captivity. I still have a hand written note he wrote to me when I served as escort for him and his wife around base. For those who don't remember my name, The first dog I was assigned was a retrained sentry dog name Shep redish in color. I then was selected to the detection dog section and was assigned Blue #4B10, a large blonde shepard of exceptional disposition. Charles Delashment took over Blue when I left. God did I shed some tears over leaving that dog. But I am sure I was not the only handler that did that. I am here at the lake of the ozarks, central missouri, Please feel free to contact me.
