Can't get button assignments to work -- QLaunch Palm OS5 System Extension

I may be doing something stupid, but I can't get it (QLaunch 4.1) to work on my T3 when I assign a short hold to a button. For example, I set the DateBook key to go to my currency app after a short hold, and with no confirmation. A quick tap goes to DateBook, but a short hold just causes the screen to flash twice. The same happens if I set the button to do a "special" action. The action doesn't happen and I just get the two flashes.

I also tried this for the Voice button with the same non-result.

What am I doing wrong?
