Guessing (my ZZR600 has this) it is from the breather panel on the top half of the crank case (where the crank breather connects up to the airbox) inside the crankcase there is a panel/box that I assume is to stop oil carry-over out of the crank. When putting the two halves of the crank together I had to feed this through a guide hole into the lower crank behind the two gear shafts where it just 'hangs'... Don't think it is a big deal to worry about.
