REACHING THE LIGHT


Angry, pushing and shoving,
someone loses it:
what should I do?
return eye for eye, curse for curse?

Negativity runs deep
in the dark of the moon.
Love hides in the shadows
deep in the night.

Who shall shine the light
when there is no light to see by?
Who will embrace those who stagger
under the weight of old fears?

If I love but those who love me,
of what use is that when all around
no one remembers the child
of eternal innocence?
