THE ROAD UNWINDING



We roamed fields of gold
in the days of love!
We touched the sun rising
and let go it's setting
for one-another's arms.

We had an endless Summer in mind
but the path we followed
soon washed away in Autumn rains:
the winds of time in a breath,
shook her free as an autumn leaf.

Seagulls soar
through sapphire skies,
white-winged, graceful
and here, by the sea, beyond the dunes,
she still touches me,
breathing through my despair
enough life for one more day.

Faith and love, faith and love...
accompany my lonely walk
as waves slide upon the sand
and whisper gently away;
the breeze ruffles my hair
like soft, gentle fingers...
and in this I find strength enough
to rejoin the road unwinding.
