Sham Christmas.

The Holy Christmas Nights were silent this year,
but no one cares midst feelings spilled unmeant,
when soon enough hell breaks loose again to fear,
killing the war childs, unknown as they went.

They sang they never wanted to fight,
but fear choked the song dead in their throats,
far from home, fulfilling their holy plight,
living so close to death, where silence gloats.

The madness wading through the trenches,
crumbles the young delicate souls forever,
as bullets howl into the night, fear clenches,
to never let go again, killing them whatsoever.

They had no chance to taste the peace,
nor smell the pinewood scent of christmas trees,
they unwrapped their presents, lonely, midst decease,
thinking of home, crying the tears no one ever sees.
