Subject: Answer to your "Whoa hold the boat!"

Beyond Where Waves Fall From Heaven.

"A zephyr's gentle caress,
recalls the shivers of
your silky soft fingertips
tracing my brows again,
as I'm strolling
along the shores
of our mutual past."

Well, as you know me, the physical just has to be in it...
Metaphore to "We touched eachother in a special way, ie luve..."

"It feels as if it's only
a few hundred footprints back
we said goodbye."

Metaphore to 'It happened just ago'...
I found the above better sounding.

"Ironically so parting
at the exact same spot
of our first intercourse."

Again, adding a tad of drama, to squeeze the tears into the eyes of my female audience...
The perceptive and romantically engaged reader will pick up on my drifts...
Metaphoric link to "we were special to each other".

"Leaving behind engraved imprints
that will last longer
than the vague impressions
falling off of my feet,
signing the wet sand."

Stretching it out a bit...
It was not a one night stand, it will forever leave memories, that wil stay, unlike our footprints on the beach.
I'm using this typical behaviour of the landing waves always wiping everything as metaphore for the stretching.

"Silent witnesses of my presence,
licked by the landing waves,
to slowy fade into oblivion
before being granted a tan."

Stretching it again, using another typical beach thang as metaphore.

"While my eyes slowly roam
along the imaginary distant line of
where the waves seem to fall from the sky,
I see the golden sails of a ship,
balancing between Heaven and Earth,
homeward bound to a save harbor,
somewhere outthere,
far beyond my visibility,
where I lost you, your love
and our future fell off of
the face of the Earth..."

Well, this is stuffed with imagery and metaphores... But I'll try.

"While my eyes slowly roam
along the imaginary distant line of
where the waves seem to fall from the sky,"

1. At the horizon our vision gets 'deceived' as they see as if sky and sea touch (Where the waves seem to fall from the sky...).
Metaphore to her and my 'deluded vision' upon our mutual feelings, our bond (the touching).
You could say, we thought as if we touched each other, but eventually it only turned out that that was not the case.
2. The slowly roaming eyes are a leading metaphore to the time it took us to realize.
3. The waves falling from the sky is a metaphore to returning from cloud nine back to earthly reality...

"I see the golden sails of a ship,"
Now the sails and this ship is actually a plural of metaphores.
Ship -> The departing, bringer of messages, fragility, holding carco ie content (both happy and substantial), holding course, going from a to b, moving on...
Golden sails -> sun (good) reflected upon the horizon,

"balancing between Heaven and Earth,"

Now think of the horizon, line between heaven and earth as a closed zipper, her and me bonded as unit.
The ship slowly balances between Heaven and Earth (from cloud nine to reality), thus UNzipping the unit.
So the ship is the 'runner' (the thing you move up and down) of the zipper.
Balancing -> the balance between emotion and reason, that is temporally absent, because heaven is no longer on earth...

"homeward bound to a save harbor,
somewhere outthere,"

It will all come to rest sometime, when the journey is ended, the journey through all the emotions and reasoning.

"far beyond my visibility,
where I lost you, your love
and our future fell off of
the face of the Earth..."

Looking back, I don't yet fully comprehend what went wrong (beyond my visibility) so at the moment it only hurts (having lost all, falling on the face etc)

I hope you it cleared a bit of your struggling and ponding on this one...;-)
