Shredded flying flags

I smile softly; touching the fairest rose named �you�
Holding on to memories once displayed on a canvas set in gold
Of photographs with brown eyes looking way past the depths of my soul
Tracing a smile eternalized in a shiny plastic frame

Now only sadness, kissed by the howling cries of unforgiving winds
Of sounds crashing into waves chasing white waters ashore
Leaving shipwrecks of lost dreams lying discarded on the sand
With masts protruding into the blue begging like I do for you

Satin mane of glorious touch, I ran my fingers through your hair
Of velvet softness trembling against the feel of my skin
Feelings once on infinite highs, mingling with the brilliance of the stars
You were I and I was you, our feelings drifted on a carpet in the clouds

My flag of skulls now flies shredded by the whipping wind
For I have lost your heart amongst the shifting, ever changing sand
To plot this map I need your mark or subtle clue where to find
A lifetime�s love now erased by the rush of the sea
