Subject: A Sad Day for the World (not a poem)

Today has been particularly disturbing...

Hearing about a plane flying into one of the World Trade Center towers... just to witness the attack on the second tower was overwhelming in itself. Then we hear about the plane near the Pentagon... and the plane in Pennsylvania... the numerous bombs found on other planes... and chaos in the menagerie of other rumors.

Watching the falling of the buildings... thinking about all the people in there who never saw it coming and who never had a chance. As you may well be aware, I am not a religious person by any means... but I must at least be grateful for sparing the suffering of all those involved.

It's a tragic and sad day today. Not only for everything we have witnessed... but because we can only imagine what will be coming in the days ahead.

And to the attackers... Touche'... you've accomplished your mission. I hope you are now prepared for your worst nightmare.
