I have tried to keep my peace with the Reagan lovers this past week. But I cannot abide much more. Ronald Reagan was not a good man to many people.
My significant other, Ramon Rodriguez, was diagnosed with a disease called GRID (Gay Related Immune Disorder) in the early days of the Reagan presidency. He died a slow and horrible death for a year. He was in constantly increasing pain. He never complained. When he finally died the disease that took him was called AIDS.
During that time Reagan did not even mention either GRID or AIDS. My government, through Reagan, would not even mention this pandemic that was taking thousands upon thousands of lives and will ultimately take millions.
