The Jewish New Year starts Friday night. Don't know if anybody is still reading here, but if so, I wanted to wish you a very happy new year, whether you're Jewish or not. I think we can all always use a number of chances to start over and the past year has been difficult for many people.
Add prayers for the Palestinians to have leadership that truly desires peace. It would be nice to have a year where Israel was free from terror. It would help if the other Arab states also desire peace.
I pray too that we figure out what we want, before just blindly rushing into war with Iraq. I don't see how we can get out of it, once we get into it. It would seem we'd be occupying Iraq for a long time. Nobody, and certainly not me, would cry for Saddam if he was not part of the world, but this is different than heading for a war that the world doesn't support. This situation is not like 1991, when many countries formed a coalition. Right now, I'm unconvinced that war is necessary or desirable.
Any way, I wish everybody a year of good health and happiness.
Jeff
