Hey y'all! I am amazed again this morning. I read Isaiah 65 this morning. I read verses 1&2 and I had to stop and sit and just ponder what is said. Let's take a look...I hope you enjoy this as much as I am.
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for ME, I was found by those who did not seek ME. To a nation that did not call on MY name, I said, "Here am I, Here am I." All day long I have held out my arms to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing there own imaginations.
Think about these verses for just a minute...GOD revealed HIMSELF to those who were not looking for HIM, who did NOT ask for HIM. HE revealed HIMSELF to people who had seemingly little interest in HIM. The WORD says here that HE held out HIS arms to obstinate people. Ladies, please allow me to be a little transparent here...I CAN BE VERY OBSTINATE. I believe that if we are honest we would agree that we all have the propensity to be obstinate. HOW COOL IS IT THEN that the creator of all that is continues to hold out HIS ARMS to you and to me. If you think for just a minute about the people in the Bible that GOD used, you will see that this passage is so accurate and true. Think about Abraham. The Bible tells us that he was living his life in wealth and ease in the land of Ur. We are not given any indication that he was looking to move to a strange place to follow a GOD that he knew nothing about, BUT GOD...called him to go, and Abraham went. Look at the New Testament. Look at the apostle Paul. He had no interest in the LORD JESUS. He was a crusader against the cause of Christ, BUT GOD...called him out and Paul followed. Look at the disciples. One by one JESUS went to them and told them to leave what they were doing and to follow HIM. Ladies, HE REVEALED HIMSELF TO PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT LOOKING FOR HIM! I think that is way cool. You see, I was not looking for HIM, but HE CALLED ME OUT and has allowed me the privilege of serving HIM.
I wonder this morning if maybe HE isn't calling to you and you just won't stop and heed that call? I wonder if maybe this Christmas HE isn't calling to you and asking you to make a choice to give HIM your heart and follow HIM with all of your being? I wonder if maybe you haven't even taken the first step of inviting HIM into your life yet...would you be willing to recognize that HE is calling you? Ladies, this fact remains unchanged throughout all of history...WE DO NOT SEEK HIM ON OUR OWN. We seek HIM because HE CALLS US. HE invites us to seek HIM. That is inconceivable to me. How cool that our creator desires to have intimacy with us. What a gift!
This ladies, is what Christmas is all about. Christmas is about GOD GIVING us what we would never have sought and we would never have been able to achieve on our own. 2 Corinthians 9:15: Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable gift! Ladies, this is a time of year to stop and reflect on the greatest gift ever given. It really began back in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned for the very first time and then it came to culmination on a cruel Roman cross. HE continues to give to this day as HE calls to each of us and invites us to follow HIM and KNOW HIM. I hope you will heed the call today.
You have a wonderful day and a Very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
ONLY and ALWAYS Because of JESUS-
Vicky
