Subject: Could also be that the carb is just plain jetted too rich or the idle screws are set too rich. Turn the idle screws in all the way and then back them out 1 and 1/2 turns to start with.
In reply to: Dan 's message, "I just finish degreeing the cam, it came in at 106. My balancer is 10 degrees off, so I made a mark on the timing tab were TDC should be. I haven't restarted the engine yet, but I think my timing will still be high. The initial was 40 minus the adjustment to the balancer marks (10) will equal 30 degrees. I'm still going to have the popping in the exhaust and if I turn the timing back my #5 and #6 header tube will start glowing. Does anyone think my spark plugs could cause a problem. I'm using auto lite racing plug that Dart recommended in there instruction sheet.. My compression is 10.5 : 1" on 01:00:27 09/08/13 Sun
