The whole point of Michael being loud is NOT to be a quality sound. It is to Be LOUD. Being LOUD is marketing.
He is not trying to be smooth here. Since you want smooth easy listening music, go back to your Barry Manilow 8 tracks.
You said "who the heck would give a degree-a doctorate at that to someone this clearly void of taste and appreciation of music" Well if Michael's degree was in Music, it would matter.

You see, music taste is, and should be, left up to the listener. If the Listener likes it, then let him like it.
God is praised, not buy quality of the player, or tamber of the instrument, He is praised by the quality of the attitude and the heart.
