Dear Eloy:

I am glad that you mentioned Harry Potter movies and their unbiblical inappropriate topics(witchcraft, mysticism, rebellion, etc.)

Harry Potter also addresses healty and important issues important to kids growing up such as being a nerd with glasses, being picked on, having abusive and unloving guardians, facing adversity and rejection, competition, trust, betrayal, socio economic differences, the pressures of school and life in general.

Here is an excellent link to some very insightful Christian reviews of the Harry Potter Movies.

http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/harry_potter_3.htm

As a Christian, Minister, and father I am very concerned with the unchristian content of todays movies.

But as Christians are we to boycott all movies that have content contrary to the word of God?

Without a doubt we sould boycott many of them.

I am still upset with Universal Studios for releasing the Last Temptation of Christ.

Should we boycott grocery stores because they sell beer and cigarettes?

Should we boycott convienence stores because they sell pornography? Where would we ever get gas to fill up our cars? Not that we can afford gas these days.

I believe that we are to be IN the world, but not of the world.

The Bible clearly teaches us that witchcraft is unbiblical.

The Bible also has a lot to say about false religions and mysticism, too much to mention here, and the Bible speaks against following false religions.

Does God not want us to teach our children not to believe in Santa Clause?

Would God want for us to go see Star Wars?

Does God not want us to watch a H.R.Puf-N-Stuf video because witchiepoo is in it?

Should we not watch a movie about the Salem, MA
witch trials because it has witches in it?

I believe that each and every one of us should pray as to what God would and would not have us to do and see.

See no evil, Hear no evil, and Do no evil.

These are good standards, however who can live a normal life and not SEE evil?

Just take a look at what is happening to Terri Schiavo.

She is being allowed by wicked judges to starve and dehydrate to death.

Does this mean that God does not want for us to turn on Fox News, CNN or MSNBC?

Somehow we have to filter out the junk, to chew the meat and spit out the bones, and to guard our children from the filth of the world to the best that we know how.

But we are not to throw a rock at a mommie who brings her kids to see Harry Potter.

btw,

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO GOOD WHOLESOME DISNEY RATED G MOVIES FOR KIDS?

Well, they too all had mysticism loaded up in them. They even had witches in them. And they even killed Bambie's mommie. Man is in the forrest.

I was on the phone twice last week with Disney.

I asked them to please create more classic annimation rated G cartoons.

But even the classic rated G Disney cartoons are controversial.

Disney has banned "The Song of the South " , a classic Disney rated G movie's video sales in the United States.

Seems that Disney thinks that the Song of the South's potrayal of old south African Americans is too controversial.

Yet they continue to seel the Song of the South videos outside of the United States.

Remember, always use the BIBLE as the standard for what is right and wrong. I do not see a lot in the Bible to get me excited about Harry Potter movies.
