BJU is a very good school. I wish now that I would have attended there. I was offered a full ride undergrad scholarship to BJU and I still did not go. Why? Because at the time I thought that BJU was too legalistic. I was stupid not to go to BJU. I took the easy road and now I regret it. I still today think that BJU was too legalistic at that time, but I was still wrong not to follow God's calling for my life. I should have done the right thing and paid the price that it took to go to BJU. But I took the easy way out. I can not turn back time.

I have followed Dr. Bob Wood and his career at BJU my entire life. Dr. Wood is a very, very good man. He lived in the subdivision that I grew up in before he came to BJU. Dr. Wood was my Pastor before he came to BJU. I knew Dr. Wood and his family very well before he ever thought about moving to Greenville. Dr. Wood would visit my home frequently, and I was often a guest at his, long hair down past my shoulders at the time and all (I currently have no hair left, heh). Dr. Wood led my father to Christ, the toughest case of all times trust me, then Dr. Wood at his own expense flew his plane to Ga and preached my fathers funeral.

Several years after I finished my B.S. I went to Dr. Wood at BJU and told him that I wanted to go to Seminary at BJU. Dr. Wood told me no, that he thought that I did not have what it took to make it in seminary. That motivated me to prove him wrong, and I did. I now hold 3 L.B.T.S. degrees, and I won the award in academic excellence in the M.R.E. program at Liberty but don't ask me how, that was a miracle praise be to Jesus.

I think you would have to search the world over long and hard to find a more faithful witness for Jesus than Ms. Canaday. I have known the Canaday's for over 30 years. I said all that to say this. If you want to talk about someones testimony at BJU , instead of consenting on an alleged fallen Jones, why not talk about Shirley? Or Bob Wood? Talk about faithful witnesses for Jesus, these two have given their life to the Lord, to BJU, and to those students.

I like the Jones family. I once had the honor of sitting next to Mr. and Ms. BJ3 at a banquet, lucky or unlucky me, eating next to BJ3 made me nervous, wouldn't it you? (be sure to hold the fork right, pick up the right one, etc. you betcha I did). The Jonses were very nice to me. I like them. I like BJ1 the best. Are they perfect? No. But Bob Jones University has come a long way in the RIGHT direction over the last 30 years from my vantage point. I like what I see.
