Sad to see what happens when a man leads a church rather than God.
I hate to be cynical but I have been around this kind of crap now for over 30 years. Too many churches end all screwed up like this church. It is pitiful that as Christians we are so weak, so gullible, such stupid sheep that we are so easily led by selfish dictatorial authoritarian men.
We are resistant to being led by the Holy Spirit.
Choose ye today WHOM We WILL SERVE , We can not have TWO masters
Either we follow GOD or we follow a MAN.
We do not need a purpose driven church we need a GOD driven church.
We do not need a man driven church, we need a God driven church.
STOP building these kingdoms of MEN and start building the Kingdom of GOD.
The Kingdom of God is an invisible Kingdom.
We need to get our heads out of our worldly sand and get it into God's Eternal Life building program.
"Come out from amongst them and be ye separate" is talking about separating ourselves as the universal (not just local ) body of believers unto righteous living. It is not talking about being in a separate geographical place and it is not telling us that as church members we can not be in the world. We are commanded to be separate in that we need to live holy, unlike the world whether we be in the walls of a church, or whether we take what is good that is inside those walls outside of them. Evil takes place both in the world and in the church. Being in a church , as we have seen too many times, does not guarantee us walls of protection from evil. When we place our trust on a man instead of the Holy Spirit we build houses on sinking sand that are guaranteed to fall, and sadly, I have seen way to many of these houses of worship fall once the wickedness that goes on in them becomes exposed, most often way too late , long after the damage has been done.
We were never commanded not to be in the world. We were told to be a gospel lighthouse , in that when we are in the world the world is impressed by our witness because it shines in the dark places that we go. The Bible never told us not to live in the world, it tells us not to be like the world. Many of our conservative churches criticize those who try to act like the world in order to reach the world (Hybles), but adultery and child molesting is acting like the world just as much as playing secular rock music over the church pa in order to attract new members. The adultery and child molestation IMHO does far more lasting damage. I that that I would rather a Pastor drink beer, smoke dope and listen to Metalica than to
be a child molester, how about you?
We have raised up an insecure generation be thinking that by not being in the world that we are being protecting, nurturing and loving. This is not true. By not training our people how to be in the world we are setting up our people for failure, especially when we are so naive to think that worldliness and godlessness and wickedness is not ever in the church or amongst some of our clergy.
