I'm learning how to play the pipes on my practice chanter. I'm the Shepherd instruction manual but I have a few questions.

I'm not clear on which fingers are raised for the G, D, and E grace notes. The book just sayd to do it by "raising the hi g finger" and the like. Can you please be more specific into which fingers these are? I want to be sure I'm doing it right before I get too far along.

Yes, I know I should use an instructor, but I live in the middle of nowhere in SE Ohio, and the closest instructor I've found is over an hour and a half away in Columbus.

Thanks for your help!

If your left hand fingers cover the upper tone holes and your right hand fingers cover the lower tones holes, the hi G finger is your left index finger, the D finger is your right index finger and the E finger is your left ring finger. If your right hand is on top, this will be reversed.

Best of luck.

Paul
