ok, I know this is a bagpipe message board, but I couldn't find any uilleann pipe message boards. I just got a set and have no idea how to REALLY play them. I looked up some fingering charts so I have some idea, but I'm not sure how to make the upper octave come out. Does anyone know how this all works and can anyone give me any general pointers on how to play.

Also, do you place your left hand above the right on the chanter (like every other instrument in existence) or do you place the right above the left. I've seen pictures of uilleann pipers with their right above their left on the chanter. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
