Are there any Bagpipes (brand name) or chanter/reed combination that lends itself paticularly well to Piob. music?

I've had good results the last 12 years using a wooden Naill chanter and Warnock chanter reeds.

Naill BW with Shepherd reed for me. Never found a reason to change.

Well, wouldn't a good set-up be good for Piob as well as light music? A good pipe is a good pipe. With that said...Naill Blackwood with a Shepherd chanter reed. I have been slowly and carefully breaking in a McAllister for the last month, and it's almost there. Just a little bit more for perfection. :) I know it will be worth the wait.

I play a Early 90s Naill Blackwood with a Shepherd reed and my husband plays a mid-80s Naill Blackwood with a Caldwell reed. We're both very happy with the set ups.

Thanks, Everyone. Looks like Naill B/W wins the chanter part of the question.
