After you try the tone enhancers (ash plugs), you'll wonder how you got along without them. Not only do they make the cut-offs really sharp, they prevent accidental noise prior to the strike-in.

The main downside is, if you like to really squeeze most of the air out of the bag at the end of a tune to get a dramatic "end grunt", you can't do that with the plugs. No matter what, they just cut off clean.

Another slight downside is that you really have to keep the pressure up while tuning drones, or drones that you have shut off have a tendency to come back on. But this is a small price to pay for the above mentioned advantages.
