I can`t speak through experience about Naill pipes so I can`t do a comparison, but I can highly recommend MacMurchie quality.I`ve been using a set of DM-2`s and have been impressed with the quality of the wood, finish and workmanship. The drones are very steady and full sounding with Wygent synth. reeds and the poly chanter I found to be somewhat sweeter sounding than other chanters I`ve heard(used Apps and Megarity&Ross reeds)I`ve been very satisfied with MacMurchie pipes, they work for me...best of luck with your decision....Thom
