My chanter's sounding alright apart from the High A, which is screamingly sharp. I don't know what to do, and I intend to play in public soon. Can anyone help me please?

You can lift the reed up further in the seat by
adding a little more hemp to the reed. Get a little
tape, medical transparant tape works quite well and
tape the high A hole at the top of the hole. Do it a
little at a time until it flattens up to the desired
pitch. It may be though the reeds life has ended and
a new reed is required.

If the rest of the notes are OK then put tape on the top edge of the High A hole to flatten the High A.
If you lift the reed then all notes will flatten and you may then have to sharpen some of them.
Easy aint it!!!!!
