Summer Pipe Band Workshop 2002
Sunday 14th to Friday 19th July, 2002
Venue: Association Headquarters,
Washington Street, Glasgow
• 6 days - Sunday to Friday
• Tuition for piping and snare, tenor and bass drumming
• Coaching in sound production and instrument maintenance

The RSPBA Pipe Band Workshop is excellent value. Attendees are taught and coached by a team of 10 instructors from the highest level of pipe bands including pipe majors, soloists, composers and experienced teachers and players from top bands i.e. Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia; Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia; Strathclyde Police; ScottishPower; Lothian & Borders Police.
In addition to the day to day instructors, world class pipe band players attend to coach and give talks and recitals i.e. Robert Mathieson and Jim Kilpatrick, Shotts & Dykehead; Brian Lamond and Paul Turner, Dysart & Dundonald; Ian Duncan, formerly Vale of Atholl; Gary Killen, David Urquart Travel: Ian Roddich (former) and Jim Collins, Glasgow Skye Association.
On 2 evenings the Workshop visits top bands at rehearsal i.e. Vale of Atholl; Dysart & Dundonald; ScottishPower; Boghall & Bathgate.
The Workshop is held at the RSPBA building in the centre of Glasgow. It is non-residential but a variety of accommodation is available close by. The following pages may be of interest:
