Charles Thompson, author of "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt": Kilt Length - No lower than the top of the knee cap, preferably 1 inch shorter. Diced hose very simple, feel the SIDE of your leg roughly about the same level with the bottom of your kneecap, you should be able to feel a very prominent bone, put your forefinger and next finger together and place upperside of your forefinger level with the bottom of the bone and the combined width of the two fingers is where your diced hose should come up to, next time you have the opportunity to watch a Scottish Regiment take note of their dress.
