I have been on the pipes now for a few months and I am doing fairly well but I still have problems with my starts and stops. I have heard about Ash plugs helping people with this problem.
I know that it will become less of a problem with time and practice (which I enjoy doing a lot of), but I can't help but wonder if maybe I should pick up a set to give them a try.
Does anyone know much about these and how well they work? And will they work in a hide bag? One ad that I have seen said that they work best in a synthetic bag or zippered bag, but did not mention the hide.
Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Take Care and God Bless.

The Ash plugs are wonderful. They will work in a hide bag. The reason that they are not recommended in hide bags is that some seasoning may get into them and clog them.
However, if you take care and properly season (not over-season) the bag, this issue is minimized.
When installing the plugs, just remove the middle tenor. This will allow you to insert the drone plug in the outer-tenor and bass drone by slightly angling the stocks toward the hole created by the missing, middle tenor. This way, you only have to tie-in one drone.
