Any thoughts on solo pipe chanters for playing at altitude (5280 feet)? I have a set of older Naills that came with a WarMac chanter that I'm not all that enchanted with. Most players & bands seem to have better luck with poly chanters to battle high-hand "thin" volume issues and Shepherd seems to be the most popular choice. Unfortunately, blackwood chanters sound "thin" here and it's also a dry climate. With all of this in mind, I'm looking for any recommendations. I will trade volume for balance & sound.
I have tried Dunbar, Shepherd, & Warmac.
Thanks!
