NOTICE FOR ALL EX RAF PERSONNEL. 1939 to 1963.
To commemorate National Service Day 2004, a re union parade will take
place
at the RAF Museum at Cosford, Shropshire on Sunday 27th June 2004
(National
Service Day).
(NOTE: entry to the museum and all parking is free).
Organised by the National Service (RAF) Association, in conjunction
with the
RAF Museum Staff and the Officer Commanding and Staff of RAF Cosford.
All ex RAF personnel who served from 1939 to 1963 - be they National
Service
OR Regulars - are invited to come along for the day. (You do not have
to be
a member of the NS(RAF)A).
A parade and march past, with a band. will take place at 11.30 hrs -
under
the tender care of ex 1950s Drill Instructors - true ! and it is
hoped to
include a Suez veterans medal presentation ceremony as well.
The day is organized to give you the opportunity to once more march
and
salute the Ensign under which we once all served.
Join us, with your families, for a memorable day of nostalgia and all
things
Royal Air Force.

The parade went really well,the weather was fine.There were nine flights each of about fifty bods each led by an ex DI from the 50's.We had a march past into one of the hangars
where there were probably a hundred or so spectators torether with an Air Comodore who took the salute and then dished out some Canal Zone GSM's to about half a dozen lads
I met a couple of lads from the fifties who square bashed at Bridgnorth.As there were no Mauripur bods there I joined the Rockapes.
The whole parade was supervised by Cosford's W/O.I'm really glad I went.
