Anyone know anything about the DH Mosquito that appeared in the film The Purple Plain starring Gregory Peck filmed in Ceylon 1954

Whilst I was at Seletar in 1957,the story was that the Mosquito used in the film was from 81Pr Squadron amd I have always used this as a claim to fame,however distant.
Cannot prove it and never saw any evidence,but the story was pretty strong,not just barrack room gossip

Yes John you are correct, I believe the mark was a T.34 or something similar, I have a photo of it on my WEBSHOTS Negombo page, two Mossies were used one was made to crash for the film and was written off.
