Subject: new styles on dresses

does anyone know anything about the new styles on pageant dresses. i have heard that in tn and va the new thing is decorating a dress with no applique of any kind. i was told you are just suppose to use stones. i was just concerned on how you can decorate with no design at all and how does this give a dress texture and depth? i have asked a couple designers that i know in florida and they have told me that is crazy and that they have never heard of that before.if anyone has a opinion on this or any advice it would be greatly appreciated thanks sj
