Trevor Stripling reset the Houston Ultimate Street Class Record October 4th at Evendale Raceway. Stripling qualified #1 with a 5.176@139.79 breaking the old 5.24 record, then backed up up breaking his own record again during the 2nd round of eliminations where he ran a 5.1605@140.01 breaking both ET and MPH Records! Unfortunately a big wheelstand ended his chances at winning the race in the final round but with ET's like that you can be sure he'll be back there again and soon!
Trevor's Camaro is especially impressive when you learn he's doing it on a single stage plate, no progressive controller or digital ignition controls and at 3460 lbs!
Congratulations on the New Record and Runner Up Trevor!

Excellent job this weekend Trevor! I always knew you had the car. You and your crew are stand up people and I enjoy racing with people like you. Congrats on the AWESOME Record pass, You did it the right way with backing it up pass after pass. Who knows what your wheel stand pass would of been! I know you still have more in that car and can't imagine what it would do with bars and a fogger! Good job man and I will see you at the next one. -- Calhoun, 19:33:56 10/06/08 Mon

The cat is out of the bag, Trevor just inform me that his internet access is still down, so he's unable to tell everyone himself that you guys need to get the guns cock and ready.
In testing @ HRP, Saturday, with no wheelie bars, on the plate, he burn down his fastest pass of 5.27 @ 138 mph. twice for a back up consistancy.
The storm blew in and gave him time to complete his upgrade to the rojo camaro. And now play time is over. He said he will see you guys in Evadale next weekend.

ULTIMATE STREET RACERS AFTER THE STORM -- COACH, 10:52:04 09/18/08 Thu
I want to say lets say first, thank God for sparing us another day to continue on after the storm of huricane Ike.
I am hoping that all have made it, with no damage to there property and belongings. There are still families that are still out there with no electricity and water, and some no homes to go to. Lets put them in our prayers that they go thru a good recovery. Racers do help racers, so if there is anyone that are still having difficulties getting things back in order, please bring it to this board.
Bonnie has annouced that the cancelation of the Sept. 20th race. This will give everyone enuff time to get there homes and businesses back in order, we all know that racing is a pleasure, hobby, and a relief factor to the mind to speed hungry guys. But we all know that our families come first.
Our next race will be @ EVADALE ON OCTOBER 4th. with more features added to the race (TV coverage), you can check this out on the OTTA meassage board. For this race get the cars waxed, the uniforms out, to show our professional appearance to the world.
Some of you guys have heard from me about sponsorship for the Oct Race Texas vs World. Which will be at Evadale. This will bring racers from around the world to come down to compete for an outstanding purse, (that will be announced in the near future).
For persons or companies that want to be apart of this sponsorship, I am starting a list by email, or call.
pcampbell1@prodigy.net or c_t_racecars@prodigy.net or 713-805-0327 cell
I am not able to take any calls during the day while I am on the job, but after 5 pm..
I asking thru email your, name, company, phone#, so that you can be reached to discuss your sponsorship to this race.
At the top of this forum, you can see the new logo of the Ultimate Street. Lets thank Chad Baker for a great logo.
So let us all get onboard, and get things forward for the Ultimate Street Class
TO BEAT SOMEBODY, YOU GOT TO BE THERE, NOT IN THE GARAGE.
Thanks

I keep hearing the word "Guarantee" -- Bonnie, 12:26:33 09/10/08 Wed
Just so you understand. I have Guaranteed the top money at every race but it takes your entry fee to complete the purse. Even at the first race and we only had 3 cars, we paid and I don't see that changing. I believe that this class can work and I will work with it thoughout the remainder of the year to try and find a common ground that will make it grow. I have not cut the purse regardless of how many cars are there. If you have a full field of 16 cars the money is there. If you have 3 cars the top money is still been there. I have all the faith in the world that this will be a very successful class so work with us and you will have a place to race. It is not in my plan to let this class die. I have done everything I can think of up to and including writing a check out of my (actually my husbands) pocket to make sure that the money is there because I think you have a good group of racers. I can not predict the future of racing but I can tell you that I plan to do everything in my power to make Houston a great place to race for you the racer, but Coach and I can not do it all, you have to come out and race with us and the more that shows up the more we can find that common ground to work for everyone. Calling a fussing is not going to build this class but coming and racing will.
Ok, I will get off my soap box, lets race.

THANKS Bonnie for your response on this matter, I have been getting beat up about this in the last few weeks about a Guarantee purse. I mention my feelings on Joe board about it, and commmented on here too. Some Racers really don't understand about that word, and some do. I will say let the racers stop showing up to those places that the car count fell down to 3 & 4 and see what happen to that word.

High Velocity Impact Canceled at Houston Raceway -- Bonnie, 10:06:12 09/03/08 Wed [1]
High Velocity Impact Canceled at Houston Raceway
Houston, TX (September 3, 2008)---High Velocity Impact Racing regrets to announce the cancellation of its remaining two events scheduled at Houston Raceway Park Saturday, September 20, 2008 and the Series finals, October 18-19, 2008, due to decreasing participant interest and lack of sponsorship funding.
Because of the tough economic environment that exists today, we unfortunately had to make this difficult decision. This is the last thing we anticipated ever having to do, series founder Bonnie Webb said. The cost of racing has risen dramatically as reflected in our decreasing car counts. The sponsorship revenue we rely heavily on to operate our events on the level our racers expect just simply isnt there.
Webb fully expects High Velocity Impact Racing to return to Houston Raceway Parks calendar in 2009.
I am extremely disappointed to remove these two great events from our race calendar, but support Bonnie 100% in her decision, said Seth Angel, General Manger of Houston Raceway. No one is immune to the effects of our weakened economy and rising gas prices.
High Velocity Impact Racing thanks the Outlaw True Ten Association (OTTA) and SNS Drag Racing for their continued support and commitment to our Series.
The next race scheduled for High Velocity Impact is Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Evadale Raceway.

Re: Rules -- Coach, 07:25:29 09/02/08 Tue
Mr./Mrs. Out of Towner, thanks for catching the glitch in the rules. The season is about to end, and that will straighten out for next year, since it is only a weight thing. We will continue to allow the canted valve heads to runs with us. We had one this year to compete but no longer with us because of sale. Still up to this date, we see no threat in these heads until proven, and one reason is because of them being on a small block. The final rule was set @ 3200, along with the BOP rule. So said that these production heads falls between the the big block and small block combo. These head are not to be used with force induction power adders, NOS, or N/A allowance.
Mr./Mrs. Out of towner, on this site we are trying to build a good class, the racers that read this site, has nothing to hide with each other, this is the only way we can help you or any other to get this class stronger in the future. Giving your name is a help. Even though that you can't make the meeting, as I stated your email to me, with your name, with the concerns of the rules are just like you are there, which give you a head count, when your perticular suggestion is made, and your suggestion will be read in the meeting and voted on. We are trying to make this class work in every way we can.

Word just in from Dallas Texas True Ten 5 that Michael Hollis won first place and Charles Riggins crushed the record in Extreme Street with that NRC smallblock with a 5.19 @ 135 . Then went two 5.20s and lost in the semis to Hollis on a hole shot. Good job Michael and way to go Riggins crew. Dont think no one will be coming close to that new record anytime soon.

Re: We always welcome those guys to come race with us. -- coach, 14:24:13 08/17/08 Sun
We are already an mixed breed class. Few of those guys have been supporting us and a few from Houston had gone up there to race. We are taking in consideration that the two classes should combine, and this will make a hellava texas class, not really change the name but combine the rules to one, and support the efforts of our racers to make thing happen. Splitting racers up is not a good thing to the classes. It hurts the car count and choices have to be made on the racers on which way they are going. I am all for the merger, but the racers have the voice to merger, and I think now is the time to start working on this.
Thanks for the asking.

Well a couple more races to go, and Chad is still high on the board. Well who will be our next winner in the ULTIMATE STREET CLASS????? I heard that Chad took that carb cover and thrown it across the track like a frisby. But it came back, because he does need it to keep the unwanted trash out of the killer big block. Looks like Chris Calhoun will be choping away at Chad, but I think David Wagner is going to try to break his legs off, before he gets there.
Where is Martin Keefer? well has a case of trannyitus, but I heard that he will be back ready and fresh to break the strend that everyone desire to become the champion. Well you know he started this and was the first record holder & winner in the class, and I we know that he want to finish it. But we will see.
We got some new players in the house, like Charles Riggins, Tracy Laurson, Ray Garcia, that has found there way to the Ultimate Street, Late comers but looking to make an big impact on the series. Look for these guys & Gal to make a good showing in the next few races.

For all the guys that was concerned about the race in San Antonio, for August 30th weekend. It's a NO GO.
I myself still like to see some particiaption towards the COTT. It was one of a kind, to the Houston & San Antonio area, to bring racers together to show each side to the state what the two cities got. During my ten years of Clash supporter, I have never seen a harder working guy in the business on bringing racers together, across the country. I myself will always support him in everyway I can, I still feel that the Clash is still the leader in the 10.5 Outlaw racing.
Our next race here will be in Houston @ HRP Sept. 20th, Put this date on your calenders to be there. Who will be my next winners in the Ultimate Street Class.

Congratulation to these two guys for putting there efforts in making the turn around in this class. Its goes to show that its an anybody race this year.
Want to say thanks for Tracy Laurson, Ray Garcia for joining in with us this weekend to add more power to this class. You guys for the first time was awsome, Tracy with her new power plant BBC, show us that the guys better watch out, she is out to win her one. Ray Garcia has brought the first Plymouth to the class, He told me that as you see I got the leaving down pat, When I find the top in, look out, I want to be the new sheriff in town.
Now what happen to our top speed runners. Jason (Hick-up) M. No. 1 Qualifier @ 5.29, Chad (carb cover)Smallwood, Chris (red eye)Calhoun. Well things happen, even to the best. Chris & Chad was so out done, they decided to beat up on each other with a grudge race in the second round, for a quick $100. to the winner. Chad Smallwood would says I got to go home with something, and he did.
Guys lets get them cars out of the garage, and join the best growing class in the Houston area. We take out of towners too.

The car count is standing on its own, The Houston guys are coming out of the closets. Looking for a big turn around in the point systems this weekend.
Chad Smallwood, the leader in our points says that its going to get stretch so far, it will take Holy water to pull him off top.

Ultimate Street race this weekenf at HMP! -- Jason Michalak, 17:20:55 07/07/08 Mon
Is anyone interested in running in Houston this weekend at HMP along side of the Outlaw 10.5 and Limited Street classes? We will be running Extreme Street rules but some exceptions can be made. All of our Ultimate Street cars will fit of course. Right now we are looking for car count. Due to the Clash being canceled there should be some cheap street and true 10.5 cars looking for a place to race. For more information please contact Jason Michalak at 713-299-4112 or Coach at 713-805-0327.

Top Fuel, Funny Car to race 1,000 feet -- REPORTER, 09:12:15 07/07/08 Mon
In interim measure, Top Fuel, Funny Car to race 1,000 feet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7/2/2008
As the investigation continues into the tragic accident that took the life of driver Scott Kalitta, NHRA has announced that beginning at the Mopar Mile High Nationals in Denver, Colo., both the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes will race to 1,000 feet instead of the traditional 1,320 feet or one-quarter mile. This is an interim step that is being taken while NHRA continues to analyze and determine whether changes should be made to build upon the sport's long standing safety record, given the inherent risks and ever-present dangers associated with the sport.
This interim change was made by NHRA in collaboration with professional race teams. NHRA believes that racing the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes to 1,000 feet will allow NHRA and the racing community time to evaluate, analyze and implement potential changes based on the safety initiatives outlined last week.
With the change, fans will still be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and thrill of NHRA nitro racing with speeds around 300 mph and quick elapsed times to 1,000 feet.
Over the years, NHRA has implemented many initiatives to enhance safety including measures to limit speeds from increasing, personal protective gear, vehicle improvements, and track enhancements such as sand traps, catch nets and concrete barriers the entire length of the drag strip.
In the wake of the tragic series of events that took Kalitta's life, the following technical issues are currently under investigation: 1) what might be done to reduce engine failures; 2) parachute mounting techniques and materials as well as identifying a parachute material that could be more fire resistant; 3) exploring whether there is a way to increase brake efficiency when cars lose downforce due to the loss of the body; 4) analyzing additional methods that might be developed at the top end of the race track to help arrest runaway vehicles; 5) considering whether current speeds should be further limited or reduced to potentially improve safety.
The board members of the Professional Racers Owners Organization (PRO) wholeheartedly and unanimously support this decision, said its president Kenny Bernstein. We want to thank NHRA for listening to our input and suggestions to incorporate these changes. It is not lost on any of us that this constitutes a change in our history of running a quarter-mile, but it's the most immediate adjustment we can make in the interest of safety which is foremost on everyone's mind. This may be a temporary change and we recognize it is not the total answer. We will continue to work hand in hand with NHRA to evaluate other methods of making Top Fuel and Funny Car competition safer so that we might return to our quarter-mile racing standard. We also want to thank Connie Kalitta for his invaluable input. He has been a rock through these difficult times.

EVADALE JULY 5 -- COACH, 22:57:41 06/30/08 Mon
Well we got 5 more days to go now, before we have 3rd race of the season. As I mentioned the season is still young, it can be a anybody championship race. We are a young class trying to get off the ground, and welcome you guys to come join us. I am being told there are cars in the chassis shops that can't wait to come join the fun, we are having, in Ultimate Street.
I will say this we have no cry babies in this class, they will tell you in a heart beat to get it in the other lane.
At this time we do not have a membership fee, running on an 16 car field payout, and a all run class. So there is your second chance to get a shot at the title and the purse.
We are also welcoming the Texas True Ten Five of Dallas to come on down and join us to grow the two biggest growing classes of Texas. I smell the growth. It will be a track take over.
We are getting coverage from RPM magazine, which also helping our growth.
If any one is interested in running with the Ultimate Street Class, please contact Coach @ 713-805-0327 cell or email C_T_RACECARS@PRODIGY.NET

CHARLES RIGGINS, ULTIMATE STREET/ EXTREME STREET -- LIL DARYL, 07:07:06 06/27/08 Fri
had to ask around to see what circuit they race with and I finally found out . I was at HMP Saturday watching the Pro Stock - Pro Mod Shootout and long and behold look who I see pulling in the track. Charles Riggins son driving his truck and trailer. I think we all thought after that horrible crash in Evadale that he was done , but obviously not. So the question was, " what car does he have now ?" Yep, they unloaded that same camaro from the trailer with a black front end. I'm saying to myself there is no way that they could have gotten that car fixed to where it will ever go down the track straight again. Anyway, the first two passes was what I expected, NOTHING !!! That car wouldnt go straight for nothing. I walked over to their trailer and seen Coach adjusting the front end . Then they came back around in the lanes for another shot at it, and boy I tell you , that car left off the line like Justin curry's camaro , packing the wheels way pass the 60' and nearly to the 330 . That pass didnt show the time . They came back around again and the same damn thing and this time the score board lit up 5.26 @ 128.95 mph . Now that shit dont seem right , but the question is , why did he lift. I went and talked to Charles myself , he said the pass before that was a 5.27 at 135.75 . Then I asked him why did he lift on the the last pass and he said that he just did . The last pass of the night he went a 5.31 at 133 sliding across the track. I think they were trying to slow down the car for some apparent reason. Whats the logic in that, hell I dont know that one. Looks like he is back. Good job Riggins Crew and good luck on your return to TTT5 . And hey , I"m just a fan of Riggins Racing thats all , giving props .

Well guys he's back up and running, -- coach, 22:44:52 06/15/08 Sun
Went out testing with Charle Riggins Saturday nite and the camaro is on a new game, He ask me what the record in US and I told him that its 5.26 own by Martin Keefer, and he showed us the time board, 5.26 @ 128 mph. that look like some one shut it down early, he said that will be history at the next race. This is an NRC small block that has dominated in the Extreme TTT5 and didn't get to show at the last two races cause of an early crash at the beginning of the season. This is going to get good.

Houston Raceway Park and High Velocity Impact -- Bonnie, 16:19:14 06/03/08 Tue
Houston Raceway Park and High Velocity Impact want to thank everyone who used their free ticket as admission into the Royal Purple High Velocity Impact Race, Saturday, May 31. Our goal in the distribution of FREE tickets was to show thanks to our existing fan base and race enthusiast, attract new fans to the sport, and activate our marketing partners and sponsors in a non traditional way. We allocated space on the back of our tickets for everyone to fill out their contact information. The majority of tickets redeemed captured the name, address, phone number, and email address of the fans enabling Houston Raceway to better communicate to a broader fan base for upcoming events while at the same time providing our sponsors with valuable information. The joint effort put forth by Houston Raceway, High Velocity Impact Racing, Royal Purple, O'Reilly Auto Parts and many more sponsors and individuals was highly successful as thousands of tickets were redeemed at Saturday's event. Without the generosity of Royal Purple and all of our series and track sponsors these free tickets could not be available to our spectators.
In all forms of motorsports and beyond, attendance is falling. The marketing plan implemented for our High Velocity Impact races was in no way intended to trick or deceive anyone. In today's economic environment, rising fuel prices, etc., the expendable income of every household is decreasing substantially. With this said, offering free tickets allows families to experience the excitement of heads up drag racing at a first-class facility for far less than it would cost if parking was free and every adult was charged $15-$20. The $10 fee Houston Raceway Park charged per car to park at Saturday's event was certainly more affordable than the alternative.
The end result is a win-win experience for all, as Houston Raceway and our sponsors receive more valuable exposure, new race fans are introduced to the sport, and the racers get to compete in front of bigger crowds.

ULTIMATE STREET -- Coach, 21:39:25 06/01/08 Sun
Again, I want to thank all the guys from the Austin area for supporting the Ultimate Street Class down here in Houston. I appreciate the effort you guys bring to get the Houston class going. Things are looking better all the time for this class, because you guys help make it happen. The Houston guys salute you guys because you came down with the guns cocked and loaded, helping me to best show that I am proud to co-ordinate.
As time permitt, I will be putting together the points for these two races for you guys to droul over to this date. As many races that we got on the schedule, any one can become the leader in this point system, until the end of the season. So the ones that are still in the chassis shop & engine shop keep on coming and join us, because you will running with the best group of guys of Texas mid and south.
I am a little beat up from this weekend, but I enjoyed every minute of it, it was worth it to get this race on.
For any one review of the race, please visit my message board, Bonnie has posted the run sheet on how it went down. Located @ www.voy.com/131010/ so go over there and check it out. That is also our message board to bring up any ideas and question to converse about our class.
Again, I want to say thanks,

Results for the Royal Purple High Impact Outlaw Race May31st at Houston Raceway Park - Baytown -- Bonnie, 18:47:52 06/01/08 Sun
Sorry guys, I just got home and it is after 5:00 am. I wanted to put the rusults up but with so much going on, I left the run sheets in the suite. I will see if I can get them latter today. I will say that kyle had to give up the champion cup and tried to escape, "BUT" we manged to have him chased down I10, forced to pull over and mugged on the side of the highway but we did manage to get the cup back,it is now safly in Justin's safe keepings, of coarse Justin got a little heated about Kyle trying to escape with the cup but we did manage to get him cooled off as well.
It was a great turn out with 18, I think there was a couple of more that broke early this morning before we started to qualify so that would have put us around 20 Outlaw True 10's and 15 Ultimate street racers and 115 index racers and many others for test n tune. We were low in the Outlaw Ten 5 class, many of them have been racing 11 weeks in a row and just needed to take a weekend off but we still had some of the best here which always makes for a great show.
Thanks for all your support and it appears that we are in a great position to have a good year. Karen Bryant, Manager of Race Relations for the US was here to do a feature on the Royal Purple Impact Race, so many of the photo's will be held hostage until we get word on what they will be using in the write up but we will do our best to get them realeased as soon as possiable. For those of you that are not receiving the magizine, you can go to http://rpm-mag.com/ and sign up today. It was a lot of fun and a super great turn out and all I can say is that I can't wait till the next one. Thanks to everyone and we are looking forward to racing with you again.
See you in the staging lanes.
Impact Racing, Bonnie Webb and Tracie Kmiec.

All Houston Area Racers -- John Huettel
ATTN: ALL HOUSTON AREA RACERS -- John Huettel @ Northside Plumbing Supply Inc., Friday, October 26, 10:16:18am [2]
I would like to express my gratitude to all the racers and sanctioning bodies that attended Houston Raceway Park for the TIREMAX HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT event last weekend. The race was a huge success and it is all because of you, the racer and race fans. For this I say thanks for your support.
What many have questioned about the race is why it was not held at Houston Motorsports Park. Let me explain that I have shown monetary support to HMP from the first day of planning a dragstrip, to support the best racing facility in the country. The reason is simple, we love drag racing and Houston. This is why we sponsor so many racing events.
I would like to also express how ashamed I am for the way Joe has handled racing in the Houston area. He was supposed to be the icon for the racing community, yet instead he has continued to run racers away from the sport that we all love. We have given him purse money to have better events at HMP, yet seen no progress whatsoever in his racing program. When we asked him to advertise the Impact race, he opted did not do so.
This race could have and should have been ran at HMP but due to the many egos, this race was moved to HRP. I never got involved with the boards but feel that this needed to be addressed.
For the above reasons, I would like to state that we are making plans to have the best racing in the Houston area for 2008. Get your cars ready for some serious action and I hope to see all of you at the races.
Sincerely,
John Huettel
Sponsor of Houston Area Racing Events
