Well,
My Doc,
not too many of them can afford to fly to Mexico. Some Asians, Africans, Carribeans, and Europeans arrive by cargo ship at Mexican ports and then try to sneak into this country. Otros cruzan la frontera de Guatemala or Belize, walking, paying bribes, and some being raped on their way north. El hambre manda. Some arrive in Canada, of course, since the Canadian border seems to be less patrolled or controlled.

I don't know what the solution will ever be, but the border has always been porous to those who want it bad enough, just as houses are broken into regardless of securty systems. Back in 2000 the rough estimate of illegal Canadians in the U.S. was about 12,000, which is a small number compared to non-whites (especially raza Latina).

There is a little bit of consternation with all the pedo about migración going on on TV today, but there seems to be a nasty racial tinge, something that seems to forget that approximately 75% of raza mejicoamericana were actually born on this side.

Gracias a Diós that not too, too many of the non-Heespanic camaradas who I associate with on a daily basis are above that kind of thinking. My Galveston and Saginaw, Mich. primos who don't even speak Spanish are sometimes told to "go back to Mexico" by some pendejos just because of their appearance.

When I was working at Franklin County Hospital as director of radiology, the poor gringuitos would gather around me when I was interviewing Mexican and Honduran patients who would get hurt on the ranch job or whose wives would come in to deliver.

Los gueros would ask me, "How do you do that? Speak in two languages without stopping?" They told me that they had never heard a Mexican speak English before. Hay muchas historias mas por acá, as I'm sure you have too.

Después "hablamos."

Valle
