Hi Evan, I've built a couple of offsets, square firebox, but same idea. I placed the firebox a bit below the centreline of the main chamber. You have to keep the fire grate up off the bottom of the firebox to allow for ash buildup and airflow. The draft door should allow for air above and below the fire grate. Since you are making a round firebox get a plate bent in a "u" shape and weld it on the top of the firebox for warming stuff on. Cut a half moon opening in a plate between the two pipes up an inch or so from the bottom of the main chamber to stop grease from running back into the fire box. Hope this helps.
