Subject: Hinges...

It seems that most of the hinges for smokin chamber lids and fire doors are made from half in rod fitted inside tubing. Is there a good reason for this??? The reason I ask is that I have lots of heavy duty fire door hinges. I think these would make for a lot less play in the doors providing a tighter fit. Any thoughts?????

Thanks...Evan...
