Reg:
I just posted your smoked olive idea on the Big Green Egg forum site. You have got me (and most of my immediate family) addicted to these little green treasures. I just went to an East Indian market outlet and bought one of those big green cannisters of olives. They are a little different, having come direct from Greece. The 'brine' is different: not as salty, with some olive oil incorporated into the mix (according to the ingredients label). Not quite as 'snacky' if that is the word. Will let you know how these ones turn out as I will have Egg going for a pork tenderloin tonight and will set olives on the side and let cook through for another hour or two while fire is going. FYI, the brand name is Krino if you've ever gotten them before. Also the term 'extra large' as was stamped on the outside meant smaller than Queen and definitely smaller than colossal. These are just slightly larger than the commercial cocktail olive.
