Sometimes it's not the destination, but the journey. In your case, it's the destination that mattered, not the journey taken to get there! Your 'method' may not make it into a bbq 'how-to' manual, but you knew where you wanted things to go overall, didn't panic when hit with the setback of lost fire, and knew when more time was needed in the morning! Overall, I think you did a fine job of 'keeping your eye on the prize'! Good job, enjoy those sandwiches!
