Hi my name is Mary and I am dyslexic. Although I have struggled with spelling, reading, and ADD, I want to give some hope to you and give you a few helpful tips to overcome your struggles. One tool that I use a lot is spell checker. Before I write anything I put everything into my computer's spell checker, that way I don't have to worry about looking stupid because I can't spell. If you are in college or planning to go to college make sure you get accommodations such as extra time on test, distraction free environment for taking test, note taker, and text books on CD. I just graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. This Fall I am going back to school to pursue a master’s degree in Psychology. I want you to know just because you struggled threw school doesn't mean you have to put your dreams on hold. I am living proof that anything I put my mind to, even though it's hard, it can be done.
