 From what I've read, these war bond tours - even after the close of the major invasions/battles were so important. The entire nation was struggling to conserve and use resources wisely, yet they still found funds to buy bonds!

It was someone's great idea to showcase the ships that helped win the war. This one of your Dad's was a prime example!
