 Does anyone know what/where Bosey, Phillippines is/was? So many of the decommissioned LSTs after WW II showed this as their final destination around 1946.
My dad's ship, LST 779, was stricken from the Navy record and sold to Bosey. Was this a scrapyard, or a port that America gave our ships to in order to rebuild the regional shipping trade?
This is the ship from which the second, famous, flag came from which was raised atop Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima.
I can find nothing present day which shows that it still exists.
