Two more views of the LST 512. Both are from the Chicago Sun-Times. First is May 23, 1945 at Chicago, the ship is being towed into the Calumet drydock to finish being outfitted for the war bond tour. Next is the LST 512 on the Chicago River near the Michigan Avenue Bridge on August 24, 1945. 512 would be on display at Chicago for 10 days, September 2-11, 1945, before going back down the Chicago and Illinois Rivers to the Mississippi. Some of the tank deck display is visible in this photo.
