The LST 24 was a US Coast Guard maanned ship and had a very short life being decommissioned in 1946. One way to get names of shipmates is to join the US LST Association (www.uslst.org) in your uncle's name and they will send you a list of any LST 24 shipmates that are members. One of them may have some photos and could give you a lot of information on the ship's travel and actions. Also they have a DVD for $25.00 that has all of the stories written and submitted to them for publication and there may be some information on the LST 24 there. The WWII vets are leaving us very fast and there may not be any of the LST 24 around. Another website you could check is www.hullnumber.com and look into the Amphibs/Gator Navy sections. Good luck.
