Unfortunately none of the online references I can find state what the final disposition of PC 587 was, only that it was transferred to the US Maritime Commission after the war, and, presumably, after being demilitarized - armament etc. being removed.
It might have gone into civilian service, might have been sunk as a target, or sold for scrap.
The 2 pictures on www.navsource.org show it in what appear to be fairly heavy seas, and, as a sub chaser, it probably saw a lot of hard, dangerous duty as convoy escort, but it was among a class of ships that the Navy viewed as "expendable" - not expected to outlast the war, and not a major loss if it didn't
